Choose your hair system base by the coverage you need, the hairline you want to wear and the removal routine you can manage. Compare the complete construction of a specific model: a lace center with a skin perimeter is different from full lace, and a mono system can also include a lace front.
If you are unsure, take photos of your current hair and the underside of any existing unit to your fitter. Confirm the base shape and attachment areas before ordering or cutting.

There is no single density, curl, hair-length or lifespan limit that applies to every product in a material category. Ask about the model and selected specification rather than using a general material chart as an order specification.

French lace center with a PU perimeter
The Australia-style French lace toupee lists a French lace center with 0.10–0.12 mm polyurethane around it, 6-inch hair and several base sizes. The mixed construction makes the location of the perimeter part of the fitting decision. Check where any planned trimming would fall.
Full skin with Afro curl
The full skin Afro curl hairpiece lists a 0.10–0.12 mm skin base, an 8 × 10-inch base and 6-inch hair. This is a concrete example of a skin construction offered with Afro curl; it does not establish the options available on other skin models. The listing shows 120%/130% density, so confirm the specification you are ordering.
Fine mono with PU cutaways and a lace front
The mono lace men's hairpiece lists fine mono with PU cutaways and a French lace front, an 8 × 10-inch base and 6-inch hair. Its instructions warn against leaving an exposed monofilament edge when cutting down the base. Have the permitted cutting area checked before making alterations.
Start with your wearing routine
- Exposed front: compare the actual front construction, hair direction and attachment plan in your intended hairstyle.
- Independent maintenance: ask for a demonstration of removal and cleanup using that base and its compatible products.
- Specific coverage shape: confirm whether a stock unit can accommodate it without cutting through a necessary construction feature.
- Textured hair: match the curl and density to the remaining hair as well as selecting the base.
Attachment time is not unit lifespan
A maintenance interval describes when an attachment needs removal and refitting. Unit lifespan describes how long the hairpiece remains suitable for use. Neither can be inferred from a material name alone. Read the lifespan guide for model-specific references and replacement signs.

- Hair color, texture, density and length that will blend with your existing hair.
- Attachment, removal, cleaning and cut-in responsibilities.
