How to choose an afro hair system
- Curl pattern. Match the curl to your own hair: 4–6mm for tight coils, 8–10mm for defined curls, 15mm for a looser wave.
- Style. Pick a natural afro unit, or a ready-styled unit with braids, cornrows, twists or dreadlocks.
- Base. Full lace is the most breathable with the most natural hairline; skin and poly bases are the easiest to clean and bond. Compare them in the base guide.
- Coverage. Most units come in 6″×8″ to 8″×10″ bases in 130% or 150% density. For the front only, choose an afro hairline piece or a hair patch.
- Colour. Units come in 1 (jet black), 1B (off black) and grey blends such as 1B10 (10% grey).
