At-a-glance comparison

Compare base families side by side

Start with how often you remove your system, how you wear it and which tradeoff matters most to you.

Base family Removal routine Typical use Choose it if you prioritize Main tradeoff
Ultra-thin skin Avoid frequent removal; use a gentle, solvent-assisted routine Everyday wear in normal or cooler conditions An invisible scalp effect, exposed hairline and light density Lowest airflow and the most delicate handling
French lace Extended wear or regular reattachment with careful cleanup Active use, frequent sweating or hot weather Maximum airflow and a natural-looking hairline Adhesive cleanup takes more care than on skin
Lace + poly hybrid Extended wear or regular reattachment; the poly perimeter simplifies the routine Everyday use with mixed priorities A first-system balance of airflow, attachment and cleanup Less airy than full lace and less seamless than ultra-thin skin
Mono + lace front Regular removal and reattachment with more repeat handling Everyday wear that needs more structure A durable top, natural-looking front and medium-to-higher density Heavier and less invisible through the top than fine lace
Mono + poly Frequent handling or daily removal and reattachment Durability-first wear and fuller hairstyles Strong structure, easy perimeter attachment and higher density The heaviest and least undetectable option in this comparison

Send a clear photo of your current system or explain your wear routine. A ReHair specialist can help narrow the construction before you order.

Is skin or lace more natural?

Both can look natural. Ultra-thin skin is strong for an exposed, low-density hairline and easier cleanup. Lace is highly breathable and can also create an excellent hairline when attached and maintained well.

Which base is best for sweating or hot weather?

Full lace is usually the most breathable starting point. A lace center with a poly perimeter balances airflow with easier attachment and cleanup.

Can I remove an ultra-thin skin system every day?

Very thin skin needs gentle handling, so repeated removal can shorten its useful life. A hybrid or more durable mono construction may suit frequent handling better.

What is the easiest first hair system base?

Many first-time wearers prefer a lace-and-poly hybrid because it balances appearance, airflow and attachment. Your routine and climate can still make skin or full lace the better choice.
