Before you begin

Four checks prevent most first-wear problems.

Use the instructions for your exact base and adhesive. Give yourself time, work in good light and stop if anything feels painful or causes persistent irritation.

01

Inspect the unit

Confirm base, size, color, hair direction and condition before cutting or applying adhesive.

02

Know the base

Lace, skin, mono and hybrid systems need different cleanup pressure and adhesive placement.

03

Prepare supplies

Set out your adhesive or tape, remover, scalp protector, clips, towels and mirror in advance.

04

Patch test

Follow the product maker’s directions and test new skin-contact products before a full application.

You do not need to read everything at once. Each track uses existing ReHair tutorials and puts them in a safer, more useful order.

Base-specific care

The same force does not belong on every base.

These are decision cues, not replacements for product-specific instructions. Confirm the exact construction on the product page or with ReHair before changing your routine.

Lace

Prioritize airflow and gentle cleanup. Avoid scraping or pulling adhesive through the mesh.

Key cue: support the lace while cleaning.

Thin skin

Use light pressure and avoid stretching the film. Release the bond fully before lifting an edge.

Key cue: patience protects the perimeter.

Monofilament

Its structure can suit repeated handling, but knots and hair still need gentle detangling and washing.

Key cue: durable does not mean indestructible.

Hybrid

Treat each zone by its material. Lace and skin sections may need different adhesive and cleanup steps.

Key cue: map the base before you start.

A simple cadence

Check first. Clean only as much as needed.

A fixed weekly schedule is not right for everyone. Use condition, buildup and bond performance as signals, then adapt to the instructions for your system and products.

  1. Daily

Detangle gently from the ends, limit friction and check the hairline before adding more product.

  2. As needed

Address sweat or a lifting edge early instead of layering more adhesive over residue.

  3. At removal

Release the bond, clean the scalp and base, then allow both to dry as directed.

  4. Before rewear

Inspect the base, hair, color and attachment area before the next application.

Prepare the right support

Supplies and services should match the system.

Choose adhesives, removers and scalp-contact products by compatibility—not by popularity alone. If you are unsure, send the product link and your intended wear routine.
